Stagecoach teams up with Cash For Kids Mission Christmas
2 December 2024 • Sarah Medcraf
Stagecoach have teamed up with MFR’s Mission Christmas, a charity organisation helping to provide Christmas gifts for children living in poverty across Moray and the Highlands.
The Cash for Kids initiative ‘Mission Christmas’ supports disadvantaged children, who would otherwise wake up on Christmas morning without a present to unwrap. To ensure Christmas for every child, they are collecting gift donations at drop-off points across the country. Stagecoach has a donation box located at Inverness Bus Station travel shop for gift donations which must be new and unwrapped, ready to be collected by Mission Christmas volunteers on the 18th of December. Gift and cash donations can also be made on their website https://cashforkids.org.uk/mission.
Charity Manager, Lyndsay Rose said: “We are currently inundated with applications and know this is going to increase as Christmas draws closer. We’re working closely with Social Services, schools and other charities to ensure we reach the children and families who need our help this most. More and more of the families we support are working but are on such a low income they are struggling to put food on the table and pay the rent. We are so grateful to Stagecoach for all the support they are giving us and hopefully together we can make a real difference to families in our community this winter.”
Managing Director, David Beaton said: “It’s a pleasure to partner with Mission Christmas again to support families who are impacted by the cost-of-living crisis, particularly at this time of year. It’s great to see the work they do and the generosity of the local community, we’re delighted to play our part in achieving their goal.”
Stagecoach services will be temporarily changing over the Christmas and New Year period across Moray and the Highlands. Find out more here.
