AC Marriott post-build clean shines

Our client ACREO worked on the new AC Marriott Hotel Inverness and hired Tidy Green Clean to provide the post-build clean. This brand new 175-room hotel had to be fit for guests when it opened, to the high standards AC Marriott expects of its hotels, worldwide.

In February 2022, our team of six came in to clean away the dust and building materials, during the build. We covered both buildings, 175 rooms, the gym, bar, and restaurant, as well as all windows inside and out. We returned throughout the year at intervals, as the build progressed, to clean dust and debris from rooms, en-suites and corridors. Once it was nearing completion, we started the final post-build clean, removing all final building dust and debris.

We also provided different kinds of specialist cleaning to bring the internal décor up to scratch. This included removing glue, tape and silicone from doors and windows as well as restoring the natural black stone tiles of the reception toilets, caked in tile adhesive and grout - once beautiful black natural stone tiles now appeared white. We used a combination of an environmentally safe specialist detergent and a mechanical floor scrubber in the main areas but for the edges, the team was hands on, using environmentally friendly detergent to soak and then brush all deposits away. We saved four natural stone floors using this approach, preventing the expense of four new floors. We also removed a water stain on a newly laid carpet through a series of cleans to avoid mould growth and avoid pulling through adhesive from the carpet base, saving the carpet so it also didn’t need replacing.

We came back to perform the sparkle clean on the whole building, removing all final dust to reveal gleaming surfaces, sparkling taps, and dust free floors. We thoroughly enjoyed the project and look forward the next challenge.
