MORAY GETS BEHIND SPIRIT OF TWO CASKS SOCIAL DISTANCING MORAY GETS BEHIND SPIRIT OF TWO CASKS SOCIAL DISTANCING

As part of its ongoing ‘Open With Confidence' initiative, Moray Chamber of Commerce has launched an advertising campaign reminding visitors to Moray to socially distance.

Posters, created in partnership with Speyside-based creative communications agency SPEY, have been printed and circulated to local businesses for display in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic. Over 500 have been printed and many more have been downloaded from the Chamber website by Chamber members. They are on display across a range of local businesses across Lossie, Elgin, Buckie, Dufftown, Forres and Keith. They have also been liked and shared extensively on social media.

The posters are the latest in a series of initiatives from the Chamber to support the business community as it re-opens and welcomes visitors from further afield. Other schemes include a Check & Protect App, which has had over 18,000 check ins across over 70 local hospitality businesses, and ConnectU, a programme where local businesses can receive professional expert advice across a range of industries free of charge.

Sarah Medcraf, Chief Executive of Moray Chamber of Commerce, said:

“At the Chamber we’re working hard to protect and support our local business community. Now is a challenging time for everyone and it’s important to us that our members and the wider community feel supported as they recover from what has been a tumultuous few months.

“We wanted to create something that was lighthearted, with a nod to Moray’s whisky heritage, but which still sent a strong message to visitors to our region about the importance of socially distancing. As the dangers around covid-19 persist, we continue to urge people who live, work and visit our community to stay two casks apart in line with Scottish Government guidance.”

You can obtain a hard copy of the poster from the following locations:

Elgin - Elgin BID office

Forres - FACT (Forres Area Community Trust)

Buckie - Pozzi Ltd

Keith - Mither Tongue

Speyside - Speyside Cooperage

Lossiemouth - Lossie Business Association
