Moray Businesses invited to ‘Meet the Buyer’

12 August 2024 • Sarah Medcraf

The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) is hosting the seventh annual Meet the Buyer North event on Wednesday 11 September at The Music Halls in Aberdeen from 10am until 3.30pm.

The event brings together buyers and suppliers for the largest free procurement event in the North of Scotland and Moray Council is one of 446 businesses and organisations taking part.

Meet the Buyer North 2024 is officially supported by The Scottish Government, Scotland Excel and Commercial and Procurement Shared Services, made up of Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, and Highland Councils.

Other confirmed public sector organisations exhibiting at this year's event include Crown Commercial Service, Historic Environment Scotland, Police Scotland and Scottish Enterprise.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with a number of private sector organisations, such as Aberdeen Airport, Balfour Beatty Construction, Bam Nuttall, Clark Contracts, hub North Scotland and Vattenfall, who will be on hand to discuss their supply chain opportunities.

Alongside networking opportunities, delegates can gain top tendering tips, by attending speaker sessions in the keynote arena, where specialists from Scottish Government, Aberdeenshire Council and SDP will be sharing their advice.

Moray Council’s Chair of the Economic Development and Infrastructure Services Committee, Cllr Marc Macrae is encouraging Moray business owners to head along: “Every year this is an unmissable opportunity for small and medium sized businesses in Moray to introduce their products and services to Scottish local authorities, government agencies, framework providers, and larger contractors. I’d encourage any business owner in Moray thinking about heading to the event this year to book their place and find out how they can link into the supplier network both in Moray Council and more widely in the North East of Scotland.”
