LOCAL RADIO SHOW NOMINATED FOR 2023 SCOTS LANGUAGE AWARD

Keith Community Radio is delighted to hear one of their shows has been nominated for a prestigious annual award.

Trad Time wi TMSA”, a fortnightly programme presented by bothy ballad singers Allan Taylor from Alford and Natalie Chalmers from Fraserburgh, has been shortlisted for the Project of the Year category in the 2023 Scots Language Awards.

Scotland’s own traditional culture, music and arts organisation Hands Up For Trad started this annual event and its director Simon Thoumire said:

It is sic an excitin time in oor annual calendar whan nominations open for the Scots Leid Awards. It’s ay a grand thing tae learn aboot and gie recognition tae fowk wha are dedicatit tae championin the Scots leid that we michtnae itherwise ken aboot, an tae hear sic inspirational stories fae the public. It is wunnerfu tae see sic a growth in the yiss o Scots leid.”

The winners are decided by public vote and the awards ceremony will take place at Johnstone Town Hall, Renfrewshire on Saturday 16 September.

Presenter, Natalie Chalmers explained;- “Voting for this year’s Scots Language Awards will be open from Monday 28th August to Sunday 10th September 2023 but votes have to be cast online at www.scotslanguageawards.com.”

It’s a double celebration for Natalie who has also been nominated in the Performer Of The Year category.
