Fuel Change Highlands & Islands Challenge

The Fuel Change Highlands & Islands Challenge, sponsored by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Zero Waste Scotland, provides a structured programme focused on developing the young workforce by addressing regionally important sustainability challenges.

The programme, which kicks off on the 24th of April 2023, provides participants the opportunity to learn and improve key skills, as well as enabling businesses to upskill internally and benefit from the opportunities that the transition to net zero and a circular economy will deliver for the Highlands & Islands.

The challenge helps to build capability in the region by encouraging the development of new, innovative, Net Zero and Circular solutions created by the next generation workforce and help organisations to upskill internally. The aim is to produce long-term positive attitudes to innovation and sustainability. We want to help the workforce build confidence and see the opportunities in creating a climate-ready region, benefiting not only businesses, but the communities in which they serve.

This is a fully funded program from Highlands and Islands Enterprise & Zero Waste Scotland delivered using the Fuel Change Challenge program.
