Firm announces first North East of Scotland partner

2 April 2025 • Sarah Medcraf

Commercial law firm Davidson Chalmers Stewart has announced Henrietta Talbot as its first partner to be appointed in the North East of Scotland. Based in Elgin, she joined the firm in 2022 as a director where she has worked with a broad spectrum of business clients, from land and estates engaging in rural diversification, through to substantial corporate businesses.

A University of Aberdeen law graduate, Henrietta built her career in both large corporate and high street firms in the North East of Scotland before moving to Davidson Chalmers Stewart. Over this time, she has established close working relationships advising clients on legal solutions to their specific needs, particularly working with rural businesses and landowners. She has also developed extensive experience advising on a wide range of property and land matters including contracts, options and leases, renewable energy projects and acquisitions and disposals.

Following her promotion, Henrietta becomes the 14th partner at Davidson Chalmers Stewart, which already has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow and is now extending its reach to meet the needs of clients in the north of Scotland.

Davidson Chalmers Stewart Managing Partner, Laura Irvine, said: “We’re very happy to announce Henrietta’s promotion to partner level. Since joining three years ago, she has helped further develop the firm’s expertise in supporting rural business, property and renewable energy clients. She becomes our first North East-based partner, a move which will further expand Davidson Chalmers Stewart’s presence across the north of Scotland.”

Henrietta Talbot said: “I’m delighted to become the firm’s latest partner and welcome this new challenge. In this new role, my energy is focused on helping develop our client base, especially across the North East and Highlands where there are significant opportunities to support the growth and diversification of both corporate and rural businesses.”
