The Highlands and Islands suffers from inferior delivery and collection service levels to the rest of the UK due to only long transit times being achievable by road sprinter from the existing English hubs and Southern Scottish airports.

Bridges plans to operate a new cargo flight from East Midlands Airport to Inverness Airport to bring delivery and collection improvements to the Highlands & Islands that match the service levels of other areas of the UK.

This service will allow for next day morning deliveries and extended collection cut-off times for shipments originating and destined between England and the Highlands & Islands with access to Inverness Airport, as opposed to utilising trucking and Southern Scottish airports.

Bridges is launching the first stage of this new regional network operation from East Midland to Inverness (and return) later this year. This will include being able to offer services from beyond East Midlands to other domestic and international destinations.

Subsequently Bridges will look at freighter connectivity to different Scotland Islands utilising Inverness Airport as a hub.
