Applications Open for Annual Dinner Supported Charity

17 May 2023 • Sarah Medcraf

Applications are now being taken to be the supported charity at Moray’s biggest black-tie event.

On the 29th September 400 local business representatives will convene at Gordon Castle in Fochabers for Moray Chamber of Commerce’s 18th Annual Business Dinner. The evening will celebrate the good work done by businesses in the area and culminate with the presentation of the Moray Chamber Business Award to the company that has made the biggest contribution to the local economy over the past year. This is the fourth year that the event is at Gordon Castle and after the success of the 2022 Dinner, it promises to be a memorable evening after selling out in just 56 minutes. The evening’s Principal Sponsor is North of Scotland Marquees, and their support allows the event to be possible.

Moray Chamber of Commerce always uses the night to raise money for a local cause. 2022’s chosen charity Moray Reach Out received £10,000 from the auction. Businesses are always extremely generous in their prize donations to the auction and some excellent lots are expected for 2023. On top of the earnings from the auction, the host will educate the guests of the good work that the charity currently does and is looking to do with the donation.

The chosen charity must operate within Moray and demonstrate how their work benefits the communities within the area. The application form gives the charity a chance to note how they would use the money to benefit Moray communities as well as speak about the fantastic work that they already do. Applications are open to all charities who operate in Moray.

Sarah Medcraf, Chief Executive Officer at Moray Chamber of Commerce said: “It’s a warming feeling to be able to support a local charity. The generosity in Moray is unmatched and we are delighted to play a small part in enabling some really important work. I urge charities to consider applying to be in with a chance of being this year’s beneficiary.”

Moray Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank its other sponsors – Associated Seafoods, Good Highland Food, Diageo, SPEY, Mott MacDonald, Forsyth’s, Brodie Countryfare and Gordon Castle. Their support has allowed the fundraising Business Dinner to be a success and in turn enable vital funds to be raised for a local charity.

Applications close 5pm, Friday 23rd June
