Please name the main purpose of your business.
Since 2010, Gairland has built up a portfolio of residential and commercial properties in both Moray and Caithness. With a passion for restoring and renovating interesting historic buildings, our mission is to create enjoyable, contemporary spaces to live and to work.

What are the benefits to operating in Moray?
Moray has a rich and diverse economy with a variety of well-established businesses as well as a steady increase in new, exciting startups – ranging from hospitality, leisure, food and drink, renewables, engineering and manufacturing. It feels like there’s a strong spirit of entrepreneurship in Moray and plenty sense of community – all combine to make this an ideal base for growing our own business while helping others grow theirs.

How do you connect to your local customers?
We’re a small, dedicated team and take a keen interest in having a ‘hands-on’ approach with our customers whenever possible. We certainly find social media platforms useful and it also helps draw potential customers to our website, which gives you a comprehensive insight into all our different services.

Why are you part of Moray Chamber of Commerce?
Our membership is important to us, particularly as it provides a great deal of vital information on local, regional and national matters which affect not only Gairland but also our customers’ businesses. We appreciate the sterling work being done by the MCC team to help local business people connect and create a wider sense of business community.

What are you most proud of?
To have the unique opportunity to restore historic well-known buildings in the Moray area, bringing them to modern-day life and giving people of Moray a special place to work from. We’re also proud of being able to reduce energy consumption across our sites using new innovative technologies such as smart heating & lighting systems as well as solar panels.

Finally, name one misconception that people have about your business.
It’s probably that people think we’re only involved in the property business. We also support a busy virtual office service from all our Business Centres, attracting customers locally and further afield. At our headquarters on Chanonry Road South, we also have a spacious professional meeting room which is available to hire on an hourly/half day or full day basis.
