The expansion of KLM’s service between Inverness and Amsterdam in 2019 resulted in an additional 8,900 inbound passengers, with a total of 99,000 passengers using the route, not only to fly directly to Amsterdam, but to connect onwards to the World including the USA, Asia, Africa and more. The global popularity of the Scottish Highlands as a tourist destination and pent up demand for travel has resulted in 50% passenger recovery for January – August 2022 since Covid restrictions impacted travel.
